"Dear Diary,

Today I washed kitchen floor, windows & woodwork, & I ironed this afternoon. Hank was supposed to pick us girls up & take us to the faculty ball game tonight but he never showed up. Mrs. Lahrke come & told us she's goin back to work Mon & we had to go back to work."
