"Dear Diary,

Went to school, had a pep meeting. Mrs. Lahrke told us she was laid off again. Mary Lou & Vern were here for supper & ice cream tonite. Ray's also stopped in. Est went to Benedict's all night so Clara Sue stayed here with me. We went down to Dan's to get Fred & Marv. A good excuse to see Marvin S."
